Scottish weavers - Robin Gibb, and Dundee!

Robin Gibb's Who Do You Think You Are? episode will feature the story of the collapse of the Scottish weaving industry - of particular interest to me as I've been looking at Perth's weavers resources for last couple of years (see www.perthweavers.bravehost.com)

For more details on the forthcoming episode see www.contactmusic.com/news/gibb-felt-helpless-learning-about-family-poverty_1245682

For my talk on the records of the handloom weavers of Perth, come to the Tayroots Family History Day at Dundee's Discovery Point this coming Saturday 24th September - more details at www.tayroots.com/AncestralEvents/AncestralEvents.asp. The talk will look at the records generated by a trade incorporation or guild, and how these can help with research.
