Maddiston and Rumford website

If you have ancestors from Maddiston or Rumford, near Falkirk, check out the Falkirk Herald article at www.falkirkherald.co.uk/community/website_helps_trace_history_of_villages_1_1706423 for news of a website carrying historic images from the area.

The website itself is accessible at http://westquarterdave.webs.com/photoalbums.htm

David Leask's Maddiston Pages are great (found quite a few references to my family among them).

You have to do a bit of digging around to find all the information but in addition to the historic images mentioned in the article there is information from the 1937 Valuations Rolls for the area (with additional details added by the local history group) and transcriptions from Maddiston School Log Books on a separate site at http://maddistonschool.webs.com/
