Lord Belmont in Northern Ireland - an excellent blog

I just have to introduce you all to the best Northern Irish blog around just now - it's Lord Belmont in Northern Ireland, located at http://lordbelmontinnorthernireland.blogspot.com.

It's a mixture of history, genealogy, the best tailoring and the finest dining, and is unashamedly the toff's guide to Ulster - but what a mix! I've just read about the history of Ballymena in my home county of Antrim, founded by the Adairs, Scottish lairds from Kinhilt in south-western Scotland in the 17th Century. Apparently the Ballymena estate was temporarily re-named "Kinhilstown" after the Adairs' lands in Scotland - you live and learn.

If you have Norn Irish blood in you, an absolute essential!

No problems, it's a great read! Particularly interested in the Dobbs piece you did a few days ago - I was at Carrickfergus Grammar many years ago, and at each annual prize giving week Captain Dobbs was brought along to do the honours!
